Effective date: September 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Houston Criminal Defense Attorneys PLLC ("the Firm," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit houstoncriminaldefenseattorneyspllc.com (the "Site") or contact us through it.
The short version: what you send us is confidential, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with advertisers.
1. What You Send Us Is Confidential
Tell us what happened. We need the facts to evaluate your case, and what you send us is protected.
Under Texas Rule of Evidence 503(a)(1), a person who consults a lawyer with a view to obtaining legal services is a "client" for purposes of the attorney-client privilege — whether or not the lawyer is ultimately hired. Rule 1.05 of the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct separately obligates this Firm to protect the confidential information of prospective clients, not just current ones.
That means:
- Your consultation request is confidential. We do not disclose it, sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose other than evaluating and handling your matter.
- You should describe your situation in detail. A vague inquiry makes it harder for us to help you. The more we know, the faster we can tell you where you stand.
- This protection applies even if we do not end up representing you.
If you have a court date coming up, say so in your message and we will move on it immediately.
We run a conflicts check on every inquiry. If we already represent someone else involved in your matter we will tell you right away, and nothing you sent us will ever be used against you. Formal representation begins when we sign a written engagement agreement.
If you would rather talk than type, call (713) 703-1718. We answer around the clock.
2. Information You Provide
When you complete a consultation or contact form on the Site, we collect the information you choose to enter, which may include:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Telephone number
- County where the case is pending
- The charge or type of case
- A free-text description of your situation
- How you heard about the Firm
You may also provide information by emailing, calling, or texting the Firm.
We treat every inquiry as confidential to the fullest extent the law allows, whether or not an attorney-client relationship is ultimately formed, and we do not sell it, rent it, or trade it. See Section 8.
3. Information Collected Automatically
Like nearly all websites, the Site collects certain technical information automatically:
- IP address and approximate general location derived from it
- Browser type and version, device type, and operating system
- Pages viewed, time spent, and the page or search that referred you
- Date and time of access
This is collected through standard server and security logs and through the cookies described below. We use it to keep the Site running, secure it against attack and abuse, and understand which pages are useful.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
A cookie is a small file placed on your device. The Site may use:
- Strictly necessary cookies — required for the Site to load, to balance traffic, and to protect against malicious activity.
- Analytics cookies — to count visits and understand which pages people read. This is reported to us in aggregate.
- Advertising cookies — used by our advertising partners to measure how our ads perform. See Section 6.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled without affecting how the Site works.
5. Third Parties That May Receive Information
The Site relies on a small number of outside service providers, each limited to what it needs to do its job:
- Hosting, content delivery, and security providers that serve the Site and protect it from attack.
- Website font and video providers that deliver page typography and embedded video. Video providers receive information only after you choose to play a video.
- Advertising and analytics partners that measure how our advertising performs.
- Our intake and case-management provider, which receives consultation requests and routes them to the Firm.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share the substance of a case inquiry with advertising or analytics partners, ever.
6. Advertising, Retargeting, and Your Choices
The Firm advertises online. Our advertising and analytics partners may use cookies and advertising identifiers to measure how ads perform and, in some cases, to show Firm ads to people who have previously visited the Site. These partners never receive the contents of your consultation request.
You can turn off personalized advertising at any time, for all participating companies at once:
- Digital Advertising Alliance: optout.aboutads.info
- Network Advertising Initiative: optout.networkadvertising.org
- Your browser's "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control setting, which we honor as an opt-out of targeted advertising where it is transmitted.
7. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Respond to consultation requests and run conflicts checks
- Provide legal services to clients of the Firm
- Operate, secure, and improve the Site
- Measure whether our advertising reaches people who need a defense lawyer
- Comply with law, court orders, and the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct
We do not use the substance of your inquiry to target advertising to you.
8. How We Protect Information
Every page and every form submission on this Site is encrypted in transit. Consultation requests go directly to Firm personnel, and access to inquiries and client files is limited to the attorneys and staff working on them. No outside party receives them.
9. How Long We Keep Information
We retain consultation inquiries for as long as needed to run conflicts checks and to comply with our professional and legal obligations, and client files in accordance with the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct and applicable records-retention requirements. Server and security logs are kept for a short period and then discarded or aggregated.
10. Your Privacy Rights
Texas residents. Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, Texas consumers may have the right to confirm whether we process their personal data and access it, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, obtain a portable copy, and opt out of targeted advertising, sale of personal data, or certain profiling. We do not sell personal data.
To exercise these rights, contact us using Section 13. We will verify your request and respond within the time the law allows. If we decline, you may appeal by replying to our response; if the appeal is denied, you may contact the Texas Attorney General.
Other states and countries. If you reside somewhere with comparable privacy rights, contact us and we will honor rights that apply to you.
Nothing in this section limits the separate and stronger duties the Firm owes its clients under the attorney-client privilege and the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct.
11. Children
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
If you are a parent or guardian seeking counsel for a minor child facing charges in juvenile court, you are welcome to use the consultation form — submit it in your own name as the parent or guardian.
12. Links to Other Sites
The Site links to courts, county agencies, the Texas Legislature, and other outside resources for your convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.
